88, of Janesville passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Agrace Center for Hospice and Palliative Care surrounded by her family. She was born in Janesville on February 14, 1927, the daughter of William and Blanche (Coats) Wolf. She grew up in Janesville and graduated from Janesville High School. She married George Thomas Nelson who preceded her in death May 8, 1976. Marie resided at Adams-Friendship, WI where she was employed by Castle Rock Container prior to retiring and returning to Janesville. She was a member of First Christian Church and volunteered for Meals On Wheels. Marie was a huge fan of the Aqua Jays.
Marie is survived by 5 children, Jimmy Gunderson of Janesville, Jill (K.C.) Jones of Beloit, Jack (Ruby) Gunderson of Manitowoc, WI, Janine (Robert) Jones of Beloit, Jean “Naude” (Greg Powell) Nelson of Janesville, 15 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, 2 sisters, Beverly Olson, Charlotte Loveland and 1 brother, Ronald Wolf. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded by a daughter, Judith Gladney, 2 brothers, Charles, Willis and a sister, Verna.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at First Christian Church, 1909 Highland Avenue, Janesville. Rev. Richard E. (Rich) Hamilton will officiate. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Entombment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
